Counseling Passion
I have counseled at Harvester Counseling (Harvester Christian Church) and six other church offices (part time) since 1991. As a professional counselor, I have worked with all ages who struggle with depression, anxiety and relationship issues. Watching God bring healing and restoration to many individuals, couples and families has been my passion.
Over the years, I have developed a counseling network to encourage Christian counselors to collaborate together with fellow therapists, building support for one another and to build a healing community for God’s glory. After serving in ministry, providing Christian counseling and clinical services in St Charles County, I am led to assist fellow Christian therapists, counseling students, churches and agencies to work together to empower clients to find healing, reconciliation and growth.
I agree with the Apostle Paul who said, “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work”. 2 Corinthians 9:8
Other Areas of Ministry
Ministry Care is at the heart of my calling, promoting “self care” for everyone in ministry. Beginning in November of 2010, God led me to develop a new ministry similar to an employee assistance program, what I had been doing in the public sector. Ministry Care was birthed out of a desire to assist those in ministry to maintain their emotional, physical, spiritual and relational health. Ministrycare.org was set up as one of several resources, as well as E-letters, face to face counseling, coaching and phone consultations. For more information, contact me at: gary@ministrycare.org.
On Wednesdays and Fridays during the school year, I teach psychology courses at St Louis Christian College. I am the Professor of the Behavioral Ministry, a “pre-counseling degree” program, preparing students to provide counseling services in their ministry context and/or go on to do graduate studies in counseling psychology. I also provide counseling services to students at St Louis Christian College and training for mentors in The Hundred department. Here our blog address: thehundred.wordpress.com.
My wife, Jackie and I are active members at Harvester Christian Church. We lead the Connection Cafe ministry and enjoy worshiping with our family at Harvester.
If you have an area of ministry that provides (or desire) therapeutic services and want to collaborate, find support and/or assistance, feel free to call or e-mail me.
Attention: Our network values your comments and your privacy. SCCT Network wants to inform all readers, any comments posted on each therapist’s page will be screened by a moderator and may be posted on this page. Since this is a public web-site, we urge you to submit personal comments (intended to be private) to each therapist by using their contact information.
Gary I just received a call asking if I do pediatric counseling and I said no but let me check my Christian network to see who does. To make a long story short, I lost referring them to the network because I wasn’t sure who does. So it is important that people load their information as soon as possible.
